Trump President-Elect

Three days ago Donald J. Trump became our President-Elect which was a surprise to millions of people.  Last evening a facebook friend posted a copy of an e-ma

il she received asking her to sign a petition for the electoral college to give the presidency to Hillary Clinton and not to Donald J. Trump President-Elect.  Being the person that I am I felt compelled to respond to the sender with a simple message of “Suck it Up Buttercup”.  Was I surprised when this morning I received an e-mail from the sender stating “Thanks for reaching out. Would you mind sharing with me why you are not scared….I realize Hillary is not perfect. But I’m afraid of Trump’s untested nature and the hate he’s used as a tool to get this far….How will I explain to my 8 month daughter the abuse and intolerance he’s shown to woman and minorities?”

I read the e-mail two or three times and felt that the sender was truly seeking a response.  I decided to respond and hope that my words will help ease her fears of Donald J. Trump, President-Elect.  When I proofed my response I decided that I needed to post it on my website.  Who knows there maybe others out there with the same questions and fears.

My Response:

Lauren,

Let me try and address each of the issues you have listed and then I will give you a look at what additional issues I took into consideration.

Racial Tensions:

  1. I am not afraid of Trump and the rising racial tensions because it is not Trump who Copyright: americanspirit / 123RF Stock Photostarted the racial tensions.  I lay the blame for the racial tension directly at the feet of Obama and the media.  Hillary then piggy backed on their work.  Trump has been a public figure for over 30 years and has had great relations with the black community in the past.  It was not until he decided to run for President did people begin to call him a racist.

Russia:

  1. There is no proof that Trump is best friends with Russia but there is proof that Hillary has received campaign funds from middle eastern countries who support ISIS. Russia has not attacked the USA but ISIS has.

Policies:

  1. You say you are not sure what his policies are and what he endorses. Well he wants to put Americans back to work and as a business owner he knows what it will take to bring businesses back to the USA.  I am not sure what your age is but I am old enough to remember when El Paso, Texas was the Jean Manufacturing Capital of the world and then NAFTA came into play and the jean manufacturing left El Paso, Texas and moved to Mexico and China.  This was only one industry but the USA lost thousands of jobs.  Other industries left the USA at the same time.  Hillary supports NAFTA and supports the new trade agreement which is just as bad if not worse than NAFTA.

Obamacare:

  1. It is very apparent that Obamacare is not what it was promised and that thousands of people can no longer afford their healthcare premiums and deductibles. Hillary wants to keep Obamacare and Trump wants to end Obamacare and put a new program in place.  Here is Trumps plan on reforming Obamacare:   https://www.donaldjtrump.com/positions/healthcare-reform

Speaking the Truth:

  1. Trump didn’t con his way into the presidency he fought his way into the presidency by speaking the truth. His delivery may not have been eloquent but his message was the truth.  The Democratic party has not helped the black or Hispanic community ever, yet in every election they make big promises.  Trump cannot do any worse than Obama in keeping his promises to the black and Hispanic communities because Obama didn’t keep any of his promises.

Untested:

  1. You are right when you say that Trump is untested… he is not a career politician.  Hillary on the other hand is a career politician and has failed at every opportunity she has had.  Did you know that she was fired from Watergate for lying and ethical violation?  She stood by her husband as he publically lied to the citizens of the United States about his affair with Monica Lewinski.  She denied requests to our service men after repeated requests which resulted in the death of four very brave men and then had the audacity to say “what does it matter now”.  While Senator of NY she didn’t do anything spectacular or memorable.  When her husband put her in charge of creating his health care plan it was a total failure (http://www.politico.com/story/2014/02/bill-hillary-clinton-health-care-reform-104109).  Please make sure you read the last paragraph.  I could go on but I am not writing a thesis and I think you get my point.

Immigrants:

  1. Trump wants to close our boarders until we find a way to truly vet those coming from countries that are hostile to the USA. He has never said that he will deport all immigrants he has said that he would deport all who were here in the USA –    It hasbeen proven that there are individuals here illegally who have murdered US citizens.  We have individuals in this country illegally who are selling drugs to our children.

Offensive Language:

  1. Hillary’s campaign drug out a tape from what 15 – 20 years ago where Trump made some rude comments about women. Well take a look at how Hillary’s husband has treated women.  We know he had extra-marital affairs (numerous extra-marital affairs).  Hillary has been aware of those affairs.  Hillary has defended her husband’s affairs.  Hillary has threatened the women accusing her husband of affairs and rape.  She has defended rapist in court and laughed when she won the case.  And now let’s move off of Hillary’s actions and talk about the language of the artist that the Obama’s have brought into the white house.  The Obama’s have entertained individuals whose music incites violence against women.  They have entertained women who talk about allowing men to sexual violate them.  They have entertained performers who use the “N” word in their music.  So what is it; you don’t like that type of language or your don’t like that type of language if it is spoken by a Republican.  And even more important is whose language is worse; Donald Trump’s or the performers who have been entertained at the White House?

Minorities:

  1. I do not believe that Trump has intolerance’s with minorities; I believe15399330_s that his intolerance’s are towards those who use the system for personal gain. There is a big difference from a person who needs a helping hand and those that have made handouts a way of life.

Body Shaming:

  1. I do not see where Trump has abused women. Yes, he has called some women out about being fat and ugly but look at the whole tweeter battle that was going on.  The person in question was fat and the words coming out of her mouth were ugly.  Trump has been accused of body shaming women and maybe you can look at it that way but in all honestly we know that being overweight is not healthy.

Explaining to your daughter:

  1. And your question “How will I explain to my 8 month daughter…”. Well, in the mid to late 1990’s I was asking how can I raise my son to treat a woman with respect when our President was not only have numerous affairs in the White House but was lying to the public about it even after there was proof of the affairs.  People have told me that Bill’s behavior didn’t matter because he was not the one running for President.  But, did we really need a First, First Husband who had been disbarred, who looked into the camera and said “I didn’t have sexual relations with that woman”.  Everyone knew what her name was and he couldn’t even show her enough respect to use her name.  And then there is the fact that Hillary had stated many times that Bill would have a place in her administration.

Running a business:

Other issues I looked at were who knew how to run a business.  Yes, I know that Trump had some businesses that ended up filing bankruptcy but he is not the only business man 17997323_sthat has had to file bankruptcy.  As a business owner you are always taking chances and sometime you make the wrong choices, sometimes you go into business with the wrong people and sometimes the financial market changes and your business is no longer viable.  Has Trump been sued, yes, he has and so have most other large business owners.  We need someone who knows how to balance a budget and who isn’t afraid to make the hard decisions regarding out rampant spending.

Saying what you think people want to hear:

I also looked at the fact that Hillary has a habit of saying what she thinks people want to hear.  One term she is against gay marriages and the next she is for gay marriages.  One term she is for NAFTA/TPP and the next she is against them.  She is for Obamacare and then she is against Obamacare.

Personal Server:

And let me just mention but not go into detail about her using a personal server for governmental work.  Really who hasn’t heard about computer hacking.  And then her comments about not knowing what is confidential and what isn’t.

Eloquent Speaker:

Trump President Elect may not be the most eloquent speaker but he says what he thinks…  I hope this helps you see your points from a different point of view.
